Title: Blind Tea Party
Size: 24x30 inches or 16x20
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Description:
Blind Tea Party unfolds like a nightmare masquerading as innocence. Around the dimly lit table, ghostly figures of children gather for tea — some seated, others suspended, all trapped in the same eerie stillness. Their empty eyes and slack expressions blur the line between playtime and purgatory. The spotlight isolates the macabre ritual, illuminating what feels like a scene frozen in the aftermath of something unspeakable.
In this work, DATKID dissects themes of trauma, isolation, and childhood’s darker corners — portraying how moments meant to be joyful can become distorted memories that haunt adulthood. Each figure feels like a fragment of a broken psyche, lingering in the room long after the tea has gone cold.
